Unemployment was — for the most part — unchanged in most Texoma counties in February compared to January.
February numbers released by the Texas Workforce Commission show the North Texas rate was steady at 3.6 percent, the same as January.
The rate for the city of Wichita Falls declined slightly, from 3.7 percent to 3.6 percent.
Jack County had a jobless rate below 3 percent.
The highest unemployment rate in Texoma was in Cottle County at 4.8 percent, up from 4.3 percent in January.
Wilbarger and Hardeman Counties also had rates above 4 percent.
The state average unemployment rate is 4.1 percent.
Unemployment rates a year ago were above 4 percent and even 5 percent in most counties.
