Third Vernon College Student Dies from Injuries After Accident

Jakob Plummer, one of the victims of a fatal accident in Haskell County, died this morning at 6:27 a.m. according to the Facebook page “Jakob’s Journey.
 
20 year old Yancie McCuistion and 19-year-old Vinita Trevino. Lost their lives in the car accident as well that happened along US 277 business.

The students were traveling for a rodeo event near Haskell. McCuistion was the driver of a pickup pulling a horse trailer. DPS says he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by an RV towing a car trailer.
McCuistion will be laid to rest on Monday at 10 am in Ordway, Colorado, which is east of Pueblo.
He was a part of the rodeo team along with 20-year-old Jakob of Wichita Falls and 20 year old Drew Hill.

Drew is now in good condition.

There’s a go fund me page set up for Plummer’s medical expenses.

On Monday The Deep End, which is located on Old Jacksboro Highway, will have a fundraiser for Vinita Trevino and Jakob. The cover will be $10 per person and all of the proceeds will go to their families.

Jakob was an organ donor.
