Traffic stop leads to man’s arrest

Local News

A man who, in the past has been arrested for allegedly breaking into and stealing cars and evading arrest, was arrested Friday when numerous police cars surround a motel on Seymour Highway.

Police say a traffic stop was made on a suspected stolen car in the 3100 block of Seymour Highway around 9:45 a.m. Friday.

During that stop, authorities say Prentice McKay, 30, was arrested for a warrant for a bond forfeiture on a charge of violating a court order against engaging in organized crime.

McKay was arrested previously when police say cars were broken into at an apartment complex and a Jeep was stolen.

In 2014, McKay was arrested when police say they tried to serve two warrants, one for evading arrest and one for indecent exposure, and he took off running and was arrested after a chase.
