After a three-and-a-half hour standoff took place at the Edge Apartments off Taft Boulevard, two individuals were arrested and charged with various crimes.
Wichita Falls police were on scene around 3 p.m. following a call about a disturbance between a man and a woman.
At that time, federal agents and a U.S. Marshal arrived at the scene and negotiations began. Wichita Falls police officer Jeff Hughes said the man had warrants out of Tarrant County then barricaded himself inside of the apartment.
Then the woman involved somehow made her way out of the home and was taken into custody.
Just before 6:30 p.m., SWAT team members and hostage negotiators made contact with the man barricaded inside.
“Once negotiators did make contact, he was able to follow their commands and come out peacefully,” Hughes said. “They took him into custody. He’s currently being transported to jail to be booked in on the two warrants.”
That man is identified Kynedrick Jackson, 21, out of Arlington. The U.S. Marshal is holding him on warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Alisha Brooks, 20, was taken into custody. She’s charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and possession of marijuana.
