In Wichita Falls, a man who police refer to as “a serial burglar” and his alleged accomplice are behind bars after authorities say he busted into a car window and stole a purse containing a gun.

Kyle Lunger, 33, is charged with burglary of a vehicle with two or more previous convictions, theft of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He has three convictions for burglary of a vehicle and multiple convictions for burglary of a habitation, theft, and trespass.

Cara Pair, 29, is charged with theft of a firearm and burglary of a vehicle. Police say early January 12th morning shortly before 1:00 a.m they saw Lunger drive his car through a parking lot near the Player’s Lounge. They say when they went to check on a car, he was standing near the passenger window which was broken out.

Police then stopped Lunger at Scott Avenue and 9th Street where they detained him and Pair. Officers say there were several purses in the car including one with a Glock 43 handgun reported taken from a car in the parking lot.

Authorities also said they found less than half of a gram of meth in the car.  Lunger is also charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone since they were stopped about 300 feet from Tadpole’s Day Care Center.

Lunger’s bonds total $60,000, Pair’s total $7,000. Police say Pair is also suspected of multiple car burglaries from last summer.
