Two women in serious condition after rollover collision

A rollover collision in Stephens County Sunday morning that left two women hospitalized in serious conditions after one was air evacuated to the hospital is under investigation.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials, Alonso Orrantia Jr., 32, of Amarillo, was driving east on State Highway 7 in a 2018 Chevy pick-up. 

As he was driving, Orrantia collided with a 2003 Buick Lesabre from behind and caused it to run off the highway and rolled numerous times. 

Lawton woman Amelia Sanchez, 60, and Altus woman Anita Sanchez, 61, were both in the car that flipped. 

When officials responded to the call, they called Air Evac to fly Amelia Sanchez to OU Medical Center and called Velma EMS to take Anita Sanchez to Duncan Regional Hospital before she was taken to OU Medical Center as well. 

Orrantia was taken to Duncan Regional Hospital and released.

Both women are in serious condition and sustained head, rear and internal injuries.
