UPDATE: Prayer vigil set for child involved in a fatal accident

There will be a prayer vigil tonight at 6 p.m at Henrietta Elementary for the family of 10-year-old Savannah Sherwood who died in a fatal accident on Friday.

The church that the Sherwood’s attended is asking for support in raising at least $10,000 to help with funeral costs.

There’s also a fund set up at Spa Bella in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services have not been set as of yet.

A fatal accident tonight near lake arrowhead claims the life of a 10-year-old girl.

This happened just before 8 p.m. on FM 2606 northeast of the boat ramp.

Early reports indicate a pickup hit a coyote and rolled twice.

DPS officials said the young girl who did not survive was the passenger.

According to authorities, the driver who is not the girl’s father walked away with minor injuries.

It’s unclear at this time the relationship between the driver and the child.

The cause is still under investigation.
