WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) - Wichita Falls Independent School District Officials are hosting a one-of-a-kind celebration Thursday for 4-year-olds graduating from their Upstart reading program.
The program is designed for 4-year-olds to complete the year before they start kindergarten.
Students are given a Chromebook and a coach who works with them and their parents weekly to make sure they're on target before starting school.
WFISD is the only district in the state offering the program.
Thursday's graduation will be at the Farris Early Childhood Center at 5 p.m.
Approximately 100 students are expected to graduate.
It's the end of an era and the beginning of another for the Electra ISD.
