Vandalism disrupts WFAFB funds

Local News

The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is dealing with $1,000 worth of damage after its food truck was vandalized.

Food Bank staff discovered a gas line was cut as well as a drilled hole in the gas tank last week.
While there has been suspicious activity in the past with the dumpsters, this is the first vandalism to a truck sustaining costs that the executive director said could’ve gone elsewhere.

“It really disrupts our business and then it makes us divert money to things that shouldn’t be necessary,” WFAFB volunteer Kara Nickens said. “That cost really is money that could’ve gone toward food to feed our children in our community that are struggling with hunger.”

The Food Bank officials ask anyone to report suspicious activity to authorities. To donate to the Food Bank call 940-766-2322 or stop by at 1230 Midwestern Parkway.
