Local News

Another successful “4th in the Falls” down at the MPEC this fourth of July, families, and friends from all over, from across the country and even the globe.

Alicia Wilson came from Pennsylvania to celebrate this holiday. She told us, “The beauty of the Falls, everyone’s kind of in the spirit around here it seems like and this place is a lot of fun.”

Tomsammo Merelle traveled a little further for this celebration. “I’m from Italy, northern part and I’m just here because we were classmates and we met in college.”

They all came here to see how Wichita Falls celebrates our nation’s birthday, with pride.

Wichita Falls resident, Aiden Potter told us, “I just love getting together with my family and friends celebrating the greatest country in the world.”

Each looking for something different to do. One visitor told KFDX, “I’m looking forward to the concert and then eating,” another one said, “I’m probably going to do more concert and then these.”

While music is what many say they were looking forward to, others sat down for fireworks as hundreds across the nation gathered to wish America a happy 242nd birthday.
