Local News

It’s estimated that more than 154,000 women in the US Have metastatic breast cancer.

It’s the type of breast cancer that spreads beyond the breast to other organs in the body—most often the bones, lungs, liver or brain.

One Wichita Falls woman battling this advanced breast cancer is Lisa Bradford—the wife of a Wichita County corporal.

The Wichita County Sheriff’s posse cooked up burgers and hot dogs at the courthouse in order to help Lisa’s family with medical expenses on Thursday.

“It’s just what we do,” WCSO official Melvin Joyner said. “We have to help each other. You never know when one of us could be in that same situation. We want to make sure we are able to help everybody that we can.”

Bradford’s family and friends will be hosting another benefit for her at Iowa Park High School on May 5.
Last week, friends and family hosted a Poker Run. Dozens of people showed up for the event and helped raise funds for the Bradford family.
