A Wichita Falls man who police say kicked a cop in the chest while being arrested is charged with 2 counts of evading arrest, resisting and assault on a public servant.

Police said they tried to pull Montrail Sanders, 38, over for a traffic stop Thursday night on Red Fox Road, because his vehicle had no tail light.

Officers said Sanders then sped off and parked in front of a residence on Roanoake Drive where he took off on foot.

Police said they found him in a nearby backyard, where he ignored their commands to stop and kept running this time into a home.

Police were able to apprehend him a short time later.

As officers tried to put him into their patrol vehicle, they said he kicked one of them in the chest.

Sanders was arrrested back in 2016 for selling drugs at a local strip club.
