Fire Marshall Cody Melton confirmed the deceased victim was 65-year old Michael Root.
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — First responders said one person is dead, and a firefighter is injured after a structure fire in the 1600 block of Kell West Blvd.
Battalion Chief Joe Raub said they found the male, deceased victim in the front room of the structure.
Officials from the Wichita Falls fire and police departments responded to a call of a structure fire in the 1600 block of Kell West Blvd., that came in at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
According to fire officials, one firefighter was injured and taken to the emergency room for his burns.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
