WFISD holds job fair to help fill about 100 positions within district

Local News

As the school year winds its way down, the WFISD is looking to fill a large number of openings.

All of the WFISD campuses were represented at the hiring fair looking to fill about 100 positions that include faculty, staff and administration with most of the booths having some kind of theme.

Not all of the positions they are looking to fill are open at this time but could be in the near future.

Associate superintendent Peter Griffiths said hiring fairs like this are common for schools this time of the year.

“Naturally this is just what happens at this point in time,” Griffiths said. “You always start expecting people to start leaving. Since we are a military town, you have folks that leave because of Sheppard Air Force Base or they come in, so you have people looking for jobs before they move. Just being close to the metroplex you have people you go down to the Dallas area. It’s just natural.”

There were about 150 applicants who came to the hiring fair, and some even had an interview while they were there.
