An 18-year-old Wichita Falls man was arrested after police say he threatened to attack a neighbor with dogs and a shotgun.

The incident happened Monday around 3:15 in the 600 block of Sunset.

Police said the victim and Michael Scanlin had gotten into a heated argument according to the victim.

That’s when the victim said Scanlin and another person went inside their house and brought their large dogs into the street threatening to let them loose on him.

Police said the victim, feeling threatened by Scanlin, grabbed a large flashlight and walked onto his yard to defend himself.

The victim said that’s when Scanlin ran back across the street to his residence and got a shotgun. Scanlin began waiving the shotgun around threatening to kill the victim.

While speaking with officers Scanlin made the comment that he told the victim to come out to the street and fight.

Scanlin was arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail without incident where he was charged with aggravated assault.
