WFPD: Baby home safe after alleged kidnapping

Local News

A baby is home safe after being taken Thursday afternoon from her aunt’s home.

The alleged kidnapping happened at the intersection of Marconi and Humphreys streets.

Wichita Falls Police Department Sgt. Charlie Eipper said the aunt of the child’s mom got home and had the child in his car seat when the sister of the child’s mom took the baby.

Police said the aunt tried to wrestle the baby back but was unsuccessful and the sister fled with the child.

She was found by police about a quarter mile down the road by Holland and Flood streets.

Eipper said the baby is fine and the mother will be pressing charges against her sister.
