A 34-year- old Wichita Falls man is charged with endangering an eight-year-old child while trying to flee from police.

John Louis White has bonds totaling $15,000 on charges of evading arrest and child endangerment.

Police say around 8 Friday evening a witness reported a black Ford Expedition traveling erratically near Hatton Road and Jacksboro Highway.

An officer spotted the car going through a stoplight at East Scott and Galveston and turned on his siren and overhead lights, and said the driver sped up to around 100 miles an hour, then made a sharp u-turn and went north on Hilltop, and turned into a driveway.

The officer made a felony arrest of White there.

Police found the eight-year-old child in the back of the expedition, totally unrestrained.
