WFPD looks for woman, man following United shoplifting

Local News

A Wichita Falls man is jailed and police are searching for two other suspects in connection to an alleged shoplifting that led to a fight outside United Supermarket off Jacksboro Highway Wednesday night.

Cody Lynn Peterson, 31, is charged with robbery and has a $20,000 bond.

Police officers said employees told them a man and woman came in the store and the man purchased some food with food stamps, but the woman took hairspray from a shelf and concealed it and did not pay for it.

Employees said the two left and a store security officer and off duty police officer attempted to stop them at the door. They also said the woman began fighting them, and then the man joined the fight.

Officers said the woman broke away and got into a truck that pulled up, and the security officer said she appeared to be reaching for a weapon, so he let the truck go and went back to help the officer who was still fighting with the male suspect.

The security officer said he was punched and fell to the ground before they got the suspect handcuffed.

Police are searching for the woman and the man who was driving the truck.
