WFPD: Officer-involved shooting send one man to the hospital

Wichita Falls police officers said check welfare ended with a man being shot in front of the Community Health Care Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The call came in just after 8 a.m. Thursday.

Officers said as they approached a man in the 100 block of Front Street he ran. WFPD Sgt. Harrold McClure said when he was in front of the Community Health Care Center he showed a firearm and confronted officers, that’s when they shot him.

The man was taken to the hospital, and there no word on his condition.
