Officials with the Wichita Falls Police Department have released more information regarding a shooting that took place Wednesday evening on Roanoke Drive.
According to WFPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Charlie Eipper, the victim has been identified as Traveon Teague, 22.
Sgt. Eipper said officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Roanoke Drive in reference to a shooting call and found Teague behind a residence with a gunshot wound.
Sgt. Eipper said Teague was transported to United Regional by ambulance and was taken into surgery.
Although his injuries are serious, Sgt. Eipper said Teague is expected to survive.
Sgt. Eipper said WFPD detectives obtained two arrest warrants for the suspect, Kody Valadez, 21, who is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Sgt. Eipper said WFPD believes our community is no longer in danger related to this shooting.

According to Sergeant Brian Sheehan, police responded to the shots fired call around 5:45 p.m.
Sheehan said the victim and shooter got into an argument at the shooter’s car and then the victim took off running.
The victim, identified as Traveon Teague, was chased and shot at least once.
Teague was rushed to United Regional with serious injuries, according to Sheehan.

Multiple units are on scene at this time.
