One Wichita Falls couple has been inducted into the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training ‘Hall of Fame’ program at Sheppard Air Force Base.
ENJJPT is ran by the 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard Air Force Base — several different countries send people to Wichita Falls to be a part of this training organization.
Karen and Daniel Gagne are being honored for their work as country sponsors.
They help the students, instructors and their family members by showing them the area, meeting with them and guiding them through living in the Ynited States
Initially, in 2002, they helped the German Air Force through the Junior League — and since 2013 they have been the Italian country sponsors.
“We (help) with problems they could have with integrating into the community. At times, they’ve had problems with electric bills, water bills…. connections ’cause they are here for three to four years or more,” Daniel Gagne said.
“It is a way for us to recognize some accomplishments of the community and how they influence the program. And how they allow us to incorporate ourselves into the community and give back,” Colonel Gregory Keeton, 80th Flying Training Wing Commander, said.
Colonel Keeton officiated the hanging of their portrait in the hall of fame Thursday morning.
