A-21-year old Wichita Falls man has pleaded guilty and received a probated sentence in connection to a shooting at a convenience store in 2016 in which police used his dropped library card and cell phone to identify him.

Steven Lionel Lawrence Junior received a 7-year deferred sentence from 30th District Judge, Jeff Mcknight.

In 2016, a shooting was reported at the 7-eleven on Central Freeway.

Three people there told officers that a car pulled in front of them in the parking lot and the driver and passenger began shooting at them, and they backed up to avoid the shots.

The suspects’ car then left but was followed to the 16-block of Red Fox by a witness to the shooting.

The car had crashed into a front year there and was still running but no one was in it.

Police traced the registration to Steven’s mother who told them she didn’t know where he was.
police also found a cell phone and keys the witness said one of the men dropped, and the cell phone traced to Steven.

The keys had a library card attached which was issued to Lawrence.
