The woman who Wichita Falls police say was riding an electric shopping cart round and round a Walmart parking lot while sipping wine out of a Pringles can, was never charged with anything. But Walmart has banned her from their stores.

Since the story came out, several major news outlets and shows such as Fox News, Inside Edition, and the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon have talked about it, as well as dozens of radio talk shows from Vancouver to Florida. Even food and wine magazine gave drinking wine out of a Pringles can a taste test. This is something that Wichita Falls police officer Jeff Hughes said he didn’t expect to happen.

“Honestly I was surprised to see the story run locally, but then once it did it just took on a life of its own and seemed to spread everywhere. It hit social media really hard, people started creating their own hashtag and their own images and their own stories and posting it out there it started getting a lot of likes and a lot of shares and then come to find out we started getting phone calls from people all over the country,” Officer Hughes said.

Hughes said they were even contacted by ESPN about the story and rumors are going around town now that Wichita Falls could host a Pringles and wine festival.
