A Wichita Falls woman is jailed after a police investigation into a reported child abuse case in November 2017.
Nichole Blevins, 32, is charged with a 3rd-degree felony charge of injury to a child.
Police say injuries to a 9-year-old boy were reported first by his teacher, who noticed bruising on his back and had heard him complaining of shoulder pain.
The boy’s teacher took him to the nurse’s office where bruising was found in both ears.
When asked what happened the boy said Blevins had grabbed him by both ears and lifted him up and then beat him with a belt on his buttocks and lower back.
The boy said Blevins became angry when she thought the boy pushed her, but he said he was trying to give her a hug.
Police say Blevins claimed she picked him up by his shoulders, but authorities say the boy’s injuries are typical of being lifted by the ears.
