A Wichita Falls woman is in jail after police said she kept someone from calling 911 and had to be tased two different times.

Victoria Lawson, 26, was arrested Sunday night in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.

Police officers were called to a woman’s house after she told them Lawson became aggressive and was screaming. Officers said the woman often let Lawson stay with her because she is homeless.

When the woman tried to call the police, she said Lawson grabbed the phone and pushed her down, hitting her 10 to 12 times in the face.

Officers also said they later found the cell phone in a trash bag that Lawson admitted to taking the phone away from the woman.

According to police, Lawson had to be wrestled to the ground and tased in order for officers to handcuff her.

One officer said he was taking pictures of the victim’s injuries when he heard other officers yelling.

Once he ran back to them, he saw the Lawson, out of her cuffs outside of the car.

That’s when the officer tased Lawson again and took her into custody.

Lawson is charged with assault and interference with an emergency call, assault on a public servant, resisting arrest and escaping.
