Woman arrested for forgery after allegedly trying to pass a fake bill

Local News

Bills marked “For Motion Picture Use Only” are still being passed as real currency in Wichita Falls.

The latest arrest was at a United Supermarket gas station.

Dalana Anderson-Jordan was arrested there and charged with forgery.

Police say a clerk at the store said she tried to use a fake $50 bill to pay for $20 of gas.

The clerk said he used a counterfeit bill marker which showed it was fake.

The police officer checked the fake money and noticed it had no security strip or watermark.

Another big indication the bill was not legitimate was it was marked in bold letters front and back “For Motion Picture Use Only.”

Several attempts to pass these bills have been made in recent months, some successfully.

Police advise merchants to check all bills carefully especially $50 and $100 bills.
