A Wichita Falls mother is charged with child endangerment after her 1-year-old baby girl tested positive for methamphetamine.
Kelsey Wells, 29, is charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
Police said an investigation was started after Child Protective Services was contacted about possible drug use and domestic violence in the child’s home.
An investigator said Wells would not cooperate and appeared to be avoiding the investigators, but Wells had been arrested shortly before the report for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance methamphetamine.
A family member of Wells had the infant taken in for a drug screening and CPS confirmed the baby tested positive for methamphetamine, and police decided to charge Wells.
Wells has previous convictions for possession of a controlled substance and also burglary.
