WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — UPDATE: Monday, September 14, 2020, 11:55 a.m.

Wichita Falls Police said a woman who set her home on fire Saturday night was outside doing cartwheels while it burned.

The trailer home is considered a total loss.

Elizabeth Aleman, 36, was booked into the Wichita County Jail and charged with arson.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 in the 1800 block of Perigo Street.

Police were called after firefighters reported a woman had set the home on fire, and when they arrived at the scene, they said Aleman was outside doing cartwheels.

According to police, Aleman said she had poured a bottle of rubbing alcohol all over the couch and lit it on fire, then ran outside to do cartwheels.

Authorities said Aleman told them she did it because she is not herself anymore and can no longer function in society.

Aleman has a long history with the Wichita County Jail, with 15 arrests since 2001.

In one arrest, police said they were trying to take her into custody during a disturbance when she began cursing and kicking and spit into an officers face.

Police said there was a medical caution on Aleman.
