A Wichita Falls woman faces two assault charges after a police report says she tried to stab her former boyfriend’s new girlfriend then tried to run over the ex-boyfriend with her car.
Constance Smith, 36, has one count of aggravated assault family violence and one count of aggravated assault, with bonds of $15,000.
On Saturday, police went to an apartment parking lot at 4800 Brookdale Drive about vehicles trying to run over people near the playground.
Officers talked to a man in a silver car who said Smith was his ex-girlfriend, and he had come to her apartment to remove belongings because he was moving in with his new girlfriend.
The man said Smith drove up as he was taking clothes out and she started yelling and asking if the woman in the car was the girl he was leaving her for. He says she then went inside and came out with a sharp object and said she was going to stab the new girlfriend.
The man says he got between Smith and his girlfriend’s car and Smith got into her SUV and tried to run him down.
The victim ran, dropping the clothes and got between two parked cars.
Police say Smith hit another SUV while trying to run over the victim.
The victim says he then ran and got in his girlfriend’s car, and police say when they arrived, Smith had her SUV pulled up behind the silver car so the two victims could not leave.
Police found damage to Smith’s car and the other SUV, and also found a screwdriver where the victims said Smith had thrown it.
