Tomorrow is the 10th annual World Blood Donor Day hosted by the Texas Blood Institute.
This year’s campaign theme is “be there for someone else. Give blood. Share life.” It focuses on blood donation as an act of unity and will spotlight stories of people whose lives have been saved through blood donation.
Vice President of Western Division Operations Daren Coats and the blood institute wants you to know just how important it is to give blood.
“One and every three people are going to need blood at some point in their entire life,” Coats said.
Hospitals need your help so they can be prepared.
“The need for blood is a constant it’s always that is something that is a part of a hospitals planning and we want to make sure we are going to be there to take care of those patients,” Coats said.
The blood institute will be accepting blood donors from 8:30 to 6:00 and for the terms and conditions of how you can give blood, click here.
