UPDATE: A Wichita Falls man is in jail this afternoon after police say he attempted to rob two businesses early Monday morning.
Officers arrested 43-year-old Brent Nichols for aggravated robbery.
Police say the first place that Nichols attempted to rob was the Executive Inn and Suites on Maurine Street around 3:00 a.m.
The front clerk told officers that Nichols walked in and handed him a note demanding money.
But, officials say he got more than he bargained for when instead of money the clerk pulled out a hand gun and threatened Nichols who then ran away.
Then around an hour later at 4:30 officials say Nichols went to the Whataburger just off of Central Freeway.
Employees at the restaurant stay that he came to the counter claiming he had a gun in his pocket and demanding money.
Police say that Nichols then ran away but was captured by officers in the parking lot of the old El Chico.
No word yet on if Nichols is responsible for the robbery at this Whataburger that happened last week.
Nichols is now in Wichita County Jail facing charges for aggravated robbery and theft.
A man is in police custody Monday morning after officials say he robbed the Whataburger on Central Freeway overnight.
Police aren’t commenting yet on whether this could be related to the robbery earlier Monday morning or the robbery of the same Whataburger last week.
Officers say just after 4:30 a man walked in the restaurant and pretended to have a gun in his pocket while demanding cash out of the register.
Witnesses say after he took the money he ran off down the road.
But unlike the robbery at this Whataburger last week this time police caught up to him and took him in to custody.
