Soap raises sickle cell awareness

National News

A North Carolina man is selling homemade aromatic soaps in the shape of sickle cells.

Greg Williams makes the soap in his kitchen in Warrenton.

His son, Lemarcus, was born with sickle cell disease, which causes red blood cells to change shape and break down. That can cause fatigue, pain and even infections.

Williams hopes his soap will raise awareness and funds for the auto-immune disease, by donating all proceeds to the sickle cell foundation.
