OK Gun Instructor Weighs In On Open Carry

This week, a bill allowing concealed weapons permit holders to Open Carry passed Texas Senate.

Because of this, we have reached out to gun instructors in Texoma for their opinion on whether Open Carry in Oklahoma is successful. Oklahoma’s Open Carry bill passed three years ago and it only allows handguns to be carried openly either in a belt, shoulder holster, or a case designed for carrying guns.

“Open Carry is a good thing from a law enforcement prospective, I am more comfortable knowing when … if I see a firearm on someone, rather than concealed. I always like to know if there’s a weapon involved when I make contact with somebody,” explained OK Gun Instructor, Stephen McCune.

A final vote on the measure is needed before it heads to Texas House.
