Wichita Falls Police Officers are warning people to be on the lookout for some funny money.

Over the past couple of weeks, the police department has seen an increase in counterfeit bills being reported in the local area.

The majority of the bills are $100 bills and detectives have few leads.

Police say the bills found are not bills marked  on front and back with “for motion picture use only.”

Two of the most common ways people will unknowingly get fake bills is through garage sales or shopping online.

Local police encourage those who have a tough time telling the difference to sign up right away for a training course online.

Anyone who finds the counterfeit money or knows any other information about it is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 940-322-9888.
