One man is dead after drowning Friday afternoon in a pool on Phillips Drive.
Officers were called to the home after a 49-year-old man became unresponsive while swimming.
The man was with a group swimming at the private pool.
“We got the call at 1549. Officers did respond, first responders also responded to the scene. A group of people having a party here at this residence, a pool party in the back yard. It is an in ground pool by the way,” Officer Jeff Hughes said.
He transported to United Regional where he was pronounced dead just after 4:30 p.m.
Police are treating the drowning as accidental, but investigators are looking into the possibility of alcohol being involved in the man’s death.
