Spring Break: Local Businesses See Spike in Number of Customers

News
A new local business owner said they noticed a significant difference in business during the week of spring break.

The managing partner of Urban Air Wichita Falls, Colby Cates, said they saw about a five time increase in business. Usually, they have about a thousand to fifteen hundred customers in a week. During spring break, they had more than 6,000 customers come through the park.

They canceled some of their normal fitness classes and events to open up space for the higher number of open jumpers.

“Well, being that we have only been open for seven weeks now, we really weren’t sure what to expect,” Colby Cates, Urban Air Managing Partner, said. “Everything with this business, since it’s new, is kind of a new challenge every day. Every day is a new problem to solve.”

In order to handle the crowds, they nearly doubled their number of staffers on shift.

Parents we spoke with said they went out to eat and to different entertainment-themed businesses more than normal.
