A man is now behind bars for an attempted aggravated robbery, after police say he tried to rob a man in the central freeway Walmart parking lot with a bb gun and then admitted he was responsible.
19-year-old Zachary Watters is being held on a 75-thousand dollar bond, following the incident that allegedly happened last Monday.
According to arrest affidavit early that morning an employee of a parking lot repair company was inspecting the lot when a man came up to him and pulled a gun demanding his wallet.
But instead of handing it over the victim said he told the robber he couldn’t hear what he said, causing the robber to step closer to him, letting the victim knock the gun out of his hand.
The victim also grabbed photos of the car the man was driving.
Through a records check police discovered Watters was recently issued a ticket while driving that same car, so they impounded his car.
Authorities say Watters called the impound lot to get the car back.
The affidavit also states at that time Watters admitted to the incident at the Walmart.
