Tablets in Classrooms

(NBC) – With the growing use of technology, like tablets in America’s classrooms, there’s been some debate about costs versus the benefit to students.

But a new study reveals a possible solution.

Researchers observed a group of kindergarten students in three classroomsin which iPads were provided for each student,
iPads were shared by students or there were no iPads at all.

At the end of the academic year, students in the shared iPad classrooms significantly outscored the other students on the Spring Achievement Literacy tests regardless of student demographics.

Experts say these findings suggest that a combination of technology and collaboration with peers makes the greatest impact on learning, rather than technology alone.
