Two Wichita Falls men appeared in the 89th District Court on Thursday, on charges of illegal sales of items for food stamps.

Franklin Parikh and Anil Parikh sat in a court room for roll call and left with an attorney.

No trial date has been set.

They were both were arrested for money laundering in September of 2014.

Police say customers reported they could buy items such as synthetic marijuana and beer using Lone Star Benefit Cards at the Lucky 7 store on Rhea Road.

Investigators questioned a customer who said she and her husband could use their Lone Star Cards to purchase anything in the store, and the store would even stock a particular brand of K2  for her.

Officers say a clerk at the store told them she knew the transactions were illegal, but when she questioned the Parikhs, she says they told her to keep making them.

She said cash from K2 sales was put into a special box.

Police also filed charges in 2013 on similar allegations at this store.
