Rider Sending Three Baseball Players To College Programs – February 15, 2017

Local Sports
Three Rider Raider baseball players committed to playing collegiate baseball today by signing letters of intent.

Tyler Latham is heading to Vernon College.
This will be Tyler’s second year playing varsity ball at Rider. He’s an outfielder.

Jakob Kroupa is also heading to Vernon College.

Matt Kennedy is heading to Redlands College.
This will be his third season suiting up for the varsity team.

Instead of asking them about their destination collegiately, I asked them about their past.
They all have fond memories of playing t-ball.

“I just remember after every game I looked forward to those snacks and drinks,” said Latham. “After every game. It didn’t matter if we won or lost. We still got those snacks at the end of the game.”

“Those are the best. (What do you remember eating as postgame snacks?) Umm. Just like Cheez-It’s and crackers and stuff like that. And getting Capri-Suns after the game,” said Kroupa.

“I played for the Rangers. I remember we had a big rivalry. We’d always make the championship and lose to another team called the Mets. And we beat them one year in t-ball and I remember that was my favorite year,” added Kennedy.
