After a incredible performance at the Regional track and field tournament.. Casean Warren qualified for State for the first time his senior season.
Warren recorded the furthest jump in Seymour history at 46 feet and 10 inches. He is also the first Seymour Panther to qualify for state in the triple jump.
“When he got first in triple jump, I mean we jumped up and down. Shed a tear.. Coach Farmer shed a tear. It was truly something special especially just seeing him you know go and get that. Especially because he was fourth going into the last jump. We were on the outside looking in.. not even looking at a wild card and then he pops off this amazing jump and he just knew he could go get it.. and he knew he could go do it and he went and got it,” said Kris Bryant.
“Oh it was… extraordinary like it was exciting like I was so like.. I asked my coach like five or six times.. ‘Are you sure it was really 46-10?’ and he was said, ‘yea it was.’ So it was pretty awesome,” said Casesan Warren.
Warren will represent Seymour not only in the triple jump, but in three other events at state.. the 200 meter.. the 800 meter relay and the 1600 meter relay.
“He just wants to go get it and wants to beat that person in front of him, if there is anyone in front of him, which there really hasnt been anything as of until late.. hes going to get em and seeing him run is something special. He’s so smooth. He’s like a gazelle and its something special to watch,” said Kris Bryant.
Warren’s determination to go and get it comes from the necklace he wears everyday. A reminder of his Dad…. to run for him.
“Well he passed away. Me and my Dad were pretty close so its good luck for me and wherever I go,” said Casean Warren.
Seymour to Austin or to wherever Casean goes.. you better believe he will give 110 percent.
