From  cross country to volleyball and now.. basketball. These nine lady mustangs stay teammates year around creating a bond on the court that is unmatched from seasons of playing together.

“We’re pretty close, because we workout every season,” said Melissa Rogers.

“Whatever season it is, is the best season. So whether were in cross country on the bus on the way to San Angelo for the cross country meet.. thats the best day, or we turn around and play a volleyball game on the following Tuesday thats the best day. And the girls.. its hard to switch back and forth and really we dont pick up another ball until were done with the other one, so until were done with volleyball we really dont pick up a basketball and its hard. But they’re conditioned in cross country and that helps alot,” said Cody Propps.

Conditioning isnt the only strength…

“Our chemistry is great. Sometimes they make passes that I’m amazed a. I mean they’re beautiful on a fast break and when our fast break is clicking.. we dont have an offense.. and we really dont (laughs) you know.. because we run up and down the court and our speed is definitely an asset,” said Mindy Flowers.
After closing the regular season with a win over Knox City,  the lady mustangs celebrated a district championship.    And they couldn’t have done it without the play of  Seniors Temi Flowers and Melissa Rogers.  Flowers packed the stat sheet in their 25th win…. leading the team with 33 points.. 19 rebounds.. 11 assists and 17 steals.

“We just take it game by game and we dont let anyone stop us and we just keep working hard and as a team,” said Temi Flowers.

“I have a good group of Seniors. They contribute in every sport. I have to brag on Melissa a little bit. Melissa is my quite Senior. She comes off the bench. She does what she needs to do. We ask something of her.. she does it,” said Cody Propps.

“It is pretty fun playing here, becuase the community helps you out and always at the games to cheer you on and stuff,” said Melissa Rogers.

The Lady Stangs are not done yet. You can catch this team of the week in the playoffs…. gold-ball chasing.
