Congratulations to this week’s KFDX Team of the Week: the Wichita Falls boy’s soccer team. The Coyotes defeated the Rider Raiders for the fifth straight year last week after winning 5-3 in PK’s.
Wichita Falls remains unbeaten in district with a 5-0-1 record. Freshman standout, Taylor Davis, is the highest goal scored his 11th goal of the season in the game against Aledo.
“Were playing a lot of young kids.. theres games where I’ve started four freshman, a sophomore or two. We’re relying on players that dont have alot of varsity experience, and you kind of saw the ups and downs to that at the beginning of the season. We played well and then we wouldnt play well. We just werent very consistant. Thats part of the growing pains with a young group, but I feel like weve found a group.. a system.. a style thats worked and we’ve stuck with it and have had good success and we havent lost,” said Patrick McCauley.
“Another win.. another win.. another dub. Take one game at a time and we want that district championship and yea we beat Rider, but its the next game weve gotta move on. Weve gotta move on. We’ve gotta focus on the next game coming,” said Marco Barron.
“It made me more confident and made me do better, and just had competition to go forward. I think we’ll do pretty great and make it as far as we can in playoffs,” said Taylor Davis.
