NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The music incorporated into the NFL Draft event is one of the elements that is going to make this year stand out from the others.

There are more than 20 acts performing on the two stages during the three days, representing a wide range of genres.

Charles Esten who we’ve grown to love from his work on the TV show “Nashville” will be bringing his music to the NFL Draft Experience stage at Nissan Stadium.

Esten, who is a big football fan especially of the Steelers, boasted about how all genres of music will be represented during the draft.

“When I was shooting Nashville, we were always trying to make it clear that it wasn’t just country music. This town, it’s not called country music city, it’s called Music City and that’s the truth. That makes a lot of sense that on this weekend it’s not going to be just country, it’s going to be rock, I saw they are going to have like pop, neo-soul, indie music, funk, jam it’s going to be whatever you could possibly want it, whatever you like you can find it here,” Esten told News 2.

He went on to say he couldn’t think of a better fit for the draft than Music City.

“There is something extremely special about this city and I mean that. I’ve traveled a lot as an actor and I’ve lived a bunch of places, but this place has a certain magic, certain southern hospitality. You know there is a band called Little Big Town because it is a little big town. It’s big enough to host and to do these things, but it’s also small enough that it feels personal. This city wasn’t just a set for our show, it was a character and people when they come here they fall in love with it so I have no doubt that’s what’s going to happen.”

Esten says he thinks hosting the draft will set the city up for the next level of hosting a Super Bowl.

He headlines Saturday night the weekend of the draft and when he’s not performing, he hopes to catch as much of the excitement as possible.

His band Six Wire, that played on the TV show, will also play as the house band for the NFL Draft providing entertainment between team selections Thursday and Friday.
